Since it’s founding in 1869 with a population of around 500, Highland Park, IL has been growing, thriving and focused on community. Today, Highland Park is home to over 29,000 people, and the town where I have built my life. Less than 25 miles from downtown Chicago and situated alongside Lake Michigan, Highland Park is a wonderful place to live.
Highland Parks offers some of the best schools, recreation activities and shopping on the North Shore.
Highland Park prides itself on high performing public school districts. I raised my family in Highland Park and sent my children to schools in the North Shore School District 112 and Township High School District 113. My personal experience involved in local schools enriched my life in Highland Park and one that I would strongly recommend. I am always willing to lend advice and encouragement when considering all possibilities during the buying/selling process.
Beautiful Recreation Areas
Highland Park stretches alongside Lake Michigan for nearly five miles and is surrounded by other North Shore communities that share some of the greatest outdoor recreation paths, parks and beaches. The facilities available in Highland Park are seemingly endless. From an aqua park, summer day camps, beach access and golf courses to an indoor ice skating rink and indoor racquet courts facilities – Highland Park has it all!
Thriving Downtown Area
Over 100 retailers, 25 salons and 40 restaurants thrive in downtown Highland Park. The Downtown Alliance consistently offers great events, shows and entertainment for locals and visitors. Some of my favorite events every year are the mid-summer artisan craft fair that takes over the streets of downtown during the summer bringing in local and regional artists, and the end of summer sidewalk sales. My favorite local spot is definitely Loves Yogurt – it’s a craving that can only truly affect a local from Highland Park.
